Blue Ridge Community College Humanities Building
Weyers Cave, VA
This two-story 23,500sf building serves as the signature building for the campus. The purpose is to expand the scholastic offering of theater and graphic arts. A large atrium lobby doubles as an art and media gallery, serving as an attractive gathering space for students and theater patrons. The "black box" theater is intended to offer theatrical facilities to the local community as well as the college. This building won an Honors Award from the AIA Blue Ridge Chapter and was featured in American School & University Architectural Portfolio 2008.
The theater was designed in collaboration with Wilson Butler Lodge.
